Silverfish can live in most places, but they are attracted to dark, damp areas like basements, kitchens, bathrooms, garages, and attics. Since they are nocturnal and move very quickly, an infestation can go undetected for a long time. Silverfish feed on paper items, glue, clothing, and food such as flour and rolled oats. Since they thrive in high-humidity environments, we recommend considering a dehumidifier and repairs to any water leaks throughout the house.
